Last Chance to Sign Up for Liú Lúnasa Slam Filíochta
Spoken word artists are invited to take part in this year’s Liú Lúnasa Slam Filíochta, the only Irish language slam poetry competition in the country. Entry to the slam is open to all and costs £5. The deadline for competitors to register is 15th August.
The Irish speaking poetry slam takes place in Belfast at the Cultúrlann McAdam Ó Fiaich on Friday 22nd August 2025.
The competition will be hosted by broadcaster and performer Sinéad Ní Uallacháin. Poets from across the country will take to the stage to perform their work before a live audience, competing for a total prize fund of £900.
First prize is £500, sponsored by Raidió Fáilte, second prize is £250, sponsored by Seachtain, and third prize is £150, sponsored by Nós.
Organisers expect a lively and engaging evening celebrating Irish language poetry, performance and creativity.
The event will run from 7.30pm to 11pm, with free admission for audience members on the night.
