Night Moves Late Night Cafes | Bare Food

An innovative late-night cultural programme, led and produced by Droichead Arts Centre and curated by singer-songwriter SJ McArdle, is set to take place as part of Drogheda’s evolving night-time economy.

Developed in collaboration with the town’s Night-Time Economy Adviser and supported by the Drogheda Purple Flag group, the initiative champions a more diverse evening offering and explores what a balanced and inclusive night-time culture might look like. Audiences are encouraged to book in advance via Droichead’s website, though walk-ins on the night are also welcome.

The evening opens at 9.45pm with a performance by Drogheda-based musician and composer Seán McCluskey known for his eclectic fusion of jazz, folk and contemporary soundscapes.

At 10.30pm, poet Emmet O’Brien takes the stage. Since emerging in 2017, O’Brien has carved out a significant space in Ireland’s literary and performance scene, tackling themes such as substance abuse, class, and identity.

The night concludes at 11.15pm with a set from Bray-based socialist singer-songwriter Clara Byrne. Byrne’s music draws on personal and political themes, with lyrics inspired by life under capitalism and the search for refuge through creativity.

This event is part of a wider programme produced by Droichead Arts Centre and supported by the Night-Time Economy Adviser in Drogheda and the Arts Council.
