Afric McGlinchey, the award-wining Irish poet and writer who lives near Clonakilty following a nomadic African/Irish childhood, presents her latest poetry collection, the evocative À la Belle Étoile; The Odyssey of Jeanne Baré (Salmon Poetry, 2025). A celebration and exploration of the life of a herbalist and illustrator, born in Burgundy (France) who was the first woman to circumnavigate the globe in the 1700s. Something she accomplished by disguising herself as a man. Afric's reading is followed by Q&A and Open Mic.
